Lethbridge Walk 'N Talk Walking Club

Do you need to lose weight? Do you wat to get in shape? Do you like to meet new people? Are you up for a challenge? Join us for our weekly walks with Lethbridge Walk 'N Talk. Everyone has a walking partnerand we walk 52 weeks a year! Schedule for 1st week in March - last week in November. We meet at Fort Whoop Up parking lot on Saturdays at 8:50 am and on Wednesdays at the Henderson Lake parking lot off Mayor Magrath on Wednesdays at 6:20 pm. Give It Up!

The YWCA Lethbridge and District is pleased to offer a free stop smoking program for youth (16-24) and adult women.
"Your Strength" focuses on four basic elements: health, education, fitness, smoking cessation support and nutrition education. The decision to quit smoking is unique to each individual. While participants will be supported in their efforts to quit smoking during the program, no one will be pressured to quit before they are ready. The workshops run one time weekly for 12 weeks. Individual support is also provided.
Adult group starts Thursday, March 11 from noon until 1pm
Youth/Young Adult group starts Friday, March 12 from 2 until 4 pm.

Flaman Road Race

Coulees & Culture Easter Day Program

Kiwanis Music and Speech Arts Festival

The festival begins Monday, March 15 and ends Saturday, March 27 with performances scheduled throughout the days and evenings. Cost is $2.00 per session, or with a $10 program purchase you can get into all sessions. Programs are available March 12 at Note-able Music and The Music Court. During the festival they are available at any of the following venues: Yates Centre, Sterndale Bennett Theatre, Southminster Church, St.Augustine's Church Hall and the Lethbridge Public Library in the Theatre Gallery.
Each week the festival culminates in a Showcase at 7:30 pm at the Yates Centre.

Cost for these: $5 each or $15 for a family, 6 and under are free.

Cafe Galt: The Looming Crisis for Public Collections

Spring for Life

Lethbridge HIV Connection is having their Spring for Life campaign featuring Gerbera daisies. Each spring flowers are a symbol of renewed life, a symbol of hope. The Spring for Life campaign is selling bouquets of daisies to remind us of the hope that research can bring but also of how much more still needs to be done to end HIV/AIDS. The Gerberas will be available for delivery on March 17 and 18 or you can pick them up at the Lethbridge HIV Connection office on either of those days between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Pre orders can be made by calling the office any day between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to submit an order (403 328 8186). This is a great opportunity for business owners/managers to express staff/client appreciation or to simply make the workplace more colourful!

Underwear Affair 2k

The University of Lethbridge Organization of Residence Students (ORS) will be stripping down to their skivvies and running around campus for charity. ORS is hosting a Charity Run called Underwear Affair 2k, a two kilometre run around campus on March 13, 2010 at noon; all of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. ORS is asking all those who wish to participate to pay a $5 fee. The run will start at noon in the University of Lethbridge Bus Loop, in front of the Students' Union Building and participants will run the two kilometre specified route and end at Patterson Centre where they will enjoy a barbecue and refreshments for their efforts.

Student Speaker Challenge Finals: Post Secondary Education - How Will It Benefit Today's World?

A panel of judges and the audience will determine who wins the final, with a first prize of $500. Second place will receive $300 and $100 prizes will be awarded to the two students not advancing past semifinals. In addition, all eight competitors will receive a book, either "Climate Cover Up" by James Hoggan and Richard Littlemore or "Who Owns the Arctic" by Michael Byers.
